What is a Video eCard?

A video ecard is an online greeting card featuring your personal video.
When you send a video ecard, the recipients get an email with a link to the card that you've created. When they click the link, they see your video playing inside a beautifully designed, personalized ecard.

You can make a video ecard for any occasion. For instance:

    - A birth announcement with baby's first cry at the hospital
    - Your child singing Happy Birthday to Grandma
    - Holiday wishes from the whole family

How to Create an eCard

Creating a video ecard is simple - all it takes is 4 easy steps. During the process, you will need to select an ecard design, personalize it with your message, locate (on your computer) the video file you wish to attach, select family and friends to whom you want to email your ecard and send payment!

Videos associated with an ecard have the following size and file format requirements:

    - 15 MB video size limit
    - Formats: .avi, .mov, .mpg, (.mpeg), .wmv
    - 320 X 240 screen size

Once your video is uploaded, you will immediately be able to preview your personalized ecard with your video before sending it to friends and family. And as soon as your transaction with PayPal is complete, we will send you an email confirmation that your video ecard has been sent.

Who Can View Your eCard

At Jalapenyo, we realize you may not want to share your videos with everyone on the Web. While there are places you can do that, this site is about sharing your videos with friends and family.

During the process of creating an ecard, you designate who should receive a link to your video. Only the folks on your list get an email from Jalapenyo.com with a link to your personalized ecard.

Cost of an eCard

*Through August 1, 2006, ecards are FREE! We are running a special promotional to welcome parents and friends from Parent Hacks. We hope you enjoy your experience at Jalapenyo!

Personalized video ecards normally cost $0.99. You can send each card to as many as 10 people. That's less than the cost of a paper card that you send in the mail!

$0.99 covers the cost of storing your video for 30 days.

Payment for the ecard requires the use of PayPal. Please read more about our payment system in the Payments section in Help.

eCard Expiration

eCards are available for the recipients and sender to view as many times as they'd like for 30 days. After 30 days, the ecard and associated video are deleted from our system. The reason for this is that the cost of storing videos is high. We have determined that it is not cost effective to keep ecard videos on our system for more than 30 days. By removing them, we make room for new ecards!
